The PPG Paints Arena, formerely the Consol Energy Center, opened with a concert by Paul McCartney on August 18, 2010. The PPG Paints Arena Box Office is home to the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. Replacing Mellon Arena, the PPG Paints Arena has hosted some of the biggest performers in the world in its first few months including Lady Gaga, George Strait, Roger Waters, The Eagles and more. The current seating capacity is 19,758. The building is regularly used for family shows like Disney On Ice, Ringling Brothers Circus, WWE, Monster Jam, and the Harlem Globetrotters.
